THE NEXUS BACK TO SCHOOL RETREAT

Saturday, September 5-7 | Camp Timber-lee, East Troy, Wisconsin

6th - 12th graders are invited to our Nexus Back to School retreat! During BTSR, students will spend the weekend at Camp Timber-lee enjoying time outdoors, playing games, building relationships, and participating in activities together. We will also be spending the weekend in the book of Psalms, taking time to study God’s Word, worship together, and explore what the Psalms teach us about who God is and how we can bring our joys, struggles, questions, and praise before Him. Please note: We will be tent camping! 

**If students are coming up late/leaving early or driving separately with their parents, that MUST be communicated with Venessa Morris. 

You will receive an early bird registration discount of $10 if you register by midnight on Wednesday, August 26.  Registration is online only.  If you prefer to not pay with a credit card, please contact Venessa at vmorris@efccl.org for registration instructions.

Cost:

EARLY BIRD PRICING: $70/student (must register by 8/26)
COST AFTER 8/26: $80/student
GUESTS/FRIENDS OF NEXUS: $60/student

What You Need to Know:

DROP OFF: Saturday, September 5. Be in the EFCCL back parking lot by 8:30 am. Please eat breakfast before you come.
PICK UP: Monday, September 7.  Pick up your student in the EFCCL back parking lot between 3:00-4:00 pm (we send a text out with an ETA when we leave Camp Timber-lee)
Retreat Location: Tent Camping at Camp Timber-lee, East Troy, Wisconsin
Cost: $70 per student (if you register before 8/20, $80/student after). Guests are always $60.
Forms Required: Current Medical and Participation forms OR an Accuracy Acknowledgement form for 2026-2027 (if the other forms are still correct)* Found under Resources + Links on our Nexus webpage and attached on the registration form.

*Once submitted, these forms are valid for all Nexus Student Ministries events and activities from June 1, 2026, through May 31, 2027. Contact Venessa with any questions.

Things to Bring:

*Please make sure your name is marked on everything!

  • Bible

  • Notebook and pen

  • Pillow

  • Sleeping bag/blankets

  • Personal toiletries

  • Towels and wash cloth

  • Reusable water bottle

  • Flashlight

  • Swimsuit/towel

  • Sunscreen

  • Any necessary medications

Optional Extras: board games/cards, theme related outfits, spending money for the leather shop, snack shop, etc.

Don’t Even Think About Bringing These:

  • Cell phones, iPods, gaming devices, or other electronic games etc.

  • Scooters/bicycles

  • Lighters or matches

  • Fireworks

  • Alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or vaping products of any kind*

  • Knives or other weapons*

We leave these things behind so that we can have a single focus on Jesus. Sometimes, we need to withdraw from things that consume our lives to grow closer to Him. We are asking you to walk truthfully in these guidelines for your growth in Christ.

*Possession of any of these items will result in immediate removal from the retreat and student’s parent/guardian will be contacted.
