Young adults (ages 18-24), join us this week as we start Voices, a three-part series led by Chuck Beckler. This study will address theological, philosophical and historical voices—from the secular to eternal, the cacophony is often overwhelming. The Bridge will meet from 7-9 p.m. on Sundays and Tuesdays; get location details at www.efccl.org/thebridge.
All are welcome to join us for a Summer Singers rehearsal this Wednesday, July 1, starting at 7 p.m. in the Choir Suite (lower level). This is a great way to try choir without a long-term commitment. We will be singing “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” during the combined 9 a.m. service on Sunday, July 5. Come and make a joyful noise!
This week on the blog, Pastor Jay writes about Zondervan’s “Counterpoint Series,” a set of books addressing theological issues—inerrancy, baptism, etc.—from multiple scholarly viewpoints. Pastor Jay cautions that, while these books are fun to read, we must be careful not to let them “lull us into becoming complacent agnostics” about important topics. To read the full post, visit blog.efccl.org—and check back each week on Friday for another new post from Pastor Jay.
We are starting a new 8-week anger management class on Tuesday nights, beginning June 23 at 7 p.m. In a small group setting, learn to understand and manage your anger as you explore triggers for anger, how to manage conflict, and how to diffuse anger by managing stress. The class is free to attend; sign up online.
This summer, we are hosting a free soccer clinic for children (ages 9-13) on Fridays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Led by Sara Cobler, this clinic will introduce children to practical soccer skills as well as biblical values and truths. Join us this Friday in the Activity Center or contact Pastor Steve Yeschek for more information.
