EMBRACE - EMBRACING THE JOURNEY OF MOTHERHOOD

He tends His flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young.
— Isaiah 40:11

Who We Are

Formerly associated with MOPS International, our group for moms of young children meets at The Evangelical Free Church of Crystal Lake bi-weekly on Thursday mornings from 9-11 am.  We encourage moms to embrace the journey of motherhood through support, friendship, and opportunities to follow Jesus, our Shepherd.  Our format includes food, friendship, small group discussions, creative activities, and teaching from a biblical perspective on topics relating to womanhood, marriage, parenting, and family relationships. Each table of moms is supported by a seasoned "mentor mom" for additional help and encouragement. We also schedule mom outings and play groups throughout the year.

The Embrace and Awana children's programs offer quality childcare with a spiritual emphasis through stories, games, and songs. (See below for additional information)

Embrace 2018-2019
This year our theme is Embracing Hope in the Chaos and our theme verses are Isaiah 40:30-31:

Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
— Isaiah 40:30-31

Our Routine

We meet on every other Thursday morning from 9 - 11 am, beginning September 20, 2018.
On alternating weeks, we offer Bible studies and growth groups for all levels of spiritual maturity. Details on those opportunities will be announced at the first few Embrace meetings.

Moms meet in the Lighthouse Café (upper level); children in our Embracelets and Puggles programs meet in Paradise Island (lower level); and children in Awana Cubbies meet in the Activity Center (lower level).

Fees and Registration

Embrace is open to all mothers in the greater Crystal Lake area. Our total annual dues are $80*
(a $40 registration fee plus one additional payment by the first meeting).

  • $40 due at registration
  • $40 due on September 20, 2018

The $40 registration fee holds your spot in Embrace, and will provide you with a number of excellent publications throughout the year.  The program dues cover the cost of speakers, childcare, craft materials, and hospitality needs. The total annual amount of $80 may be paid all at once or broken down using the payment schedule above.

Please note: Awana Cubbies fees (see below) are not included in this payment schedule. Awana Cubbies meets every week.
