Everything in the heavens and earth is yours, O Lord. (1 Chronicles 29:11)
God has given us the privilege to be stewards of His resources and to invest them joyfully and generously in those things that will give lasting and eternal returns. This stewardship is one of our highest acts of worship of our Creator God.
Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew 6:21)
How We Invest
When giving to The Evangelical Free Church of Crystal Lake, there are several funds to which you can designate your offerings.
General Fund: This multi-faceted fund covers most expenses for our ministry needs, such as our programming for children, students, adults, staff salaries, utilities, maintenance and upkeep of our buildings and grounds. This fund also supports overseas and state-side missionaries, missions organizations,
and short-term missions trips.
Benevolent Fund: This fund is replenished by a second offering taken during our celebration of the
Lord's Supper. These resources are managed by benevolent teams, who meet with people of need both within our congregation and from our community. Financial counseling is also offered through the Benevolent Ministry.
Building Fund: This fund is used for buildings and grounds additions and improvements, as well as toward retiring debt on our Worship Center. Some give regularly to this fund, realizing the value of debt retirement and the fact that improvements are essential to the stewardship of the physical assets God has entrusted to us.
Undesignated gifts automatically to into the General Fund. Giving to the Benevolent Fund, Building Fund or to support a short-term missions team must be designated.
