Sunday School Leader

Lead or co-lead a weekly Sunday morning elective study for students in grades 6-12. Elective topics vary throughout the year. This opportunity is open to anyone ages 18 to 90 and is a great way to share the love of Christ with the next generation. In order to serve as a leader, you will need to fill out an application and meet for an interview.

Schedule:
• Weekly

Team Style:
• 1-2 leaders per class (6 leaders)

Middle School Group Leader

Lead a small group of middle school students weekly on Wednesday evenings in Bible study and prayer. High School Group Leader

Summer Grounds Care

Help out mowing the lawn, watering plants, trimming, mulching, etc. Work alone or as part of a small team for these outdoor jobs. A good work ethic is appreciated, and a driver’s license is required to mow the lawn. Training will be provided.

Schedule:

• Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays
• Between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Team Style:
• 1-3 per shift

Flower Watering

Water the flowers in our flower beds and urns, a job that needs to be done three times a week (but not necessarily by the same person). Driver’s license is required, and training will be provided.

Awana Leader

Follow the Awana program and interact with children and students during games, assist with Bible memorization, and build relationships. The leader is one who loves the Lord, is grounded in his or her faith, and is warm, friendly, and patient with  children. Serve during the fall and spring Awana season. Training will be provided.

Schedule:
• Weekly
• Choice of shift:
    Wednesdays, 5:15 to 6:45 p.m.
    Wednesdays, 6:15 to 8:45 p.m.
    Thursdays, 8:45 to 11:15 a.m.

Team Style:
• 10-12 per team

Small Group Teacher (Route 66)

Serve in Route 66 with students in grades K-3 during Sunday services. The teacher is one who loves the Lord, is grounded in his or her faith, and is warm, friendly, and patient with children. Reinforce each week’s lesson in a small group setting  (curriculum, resources, and training provided). Seek to build a relationship with a group of children. All Route 66 workers must complete a Children’s Ministries Volunteer Packet.

Schedule:
• Weekly (one month on, one month off)
• Sundays
• 8:45 to 10:20 a.m.

Team Style:
• 6-8 per team
• Very social

• Completed volunteer packet required

Sunday School Teacher (Paradise Island)

Serve in Paradise Island with infants and toddlers (through pre-K) during Sunday services. The teacher loves the Lord, is grounded in his or her faith, and is warm, friendly, and patient with children. Curriculum and resources are provided. Experience appreciated, but training is provided. All Paradise Island workers must complete a Children’s Ministries Volunteer Packet.

Schedule:
• Weekly (one month on, one month off)
• Sundays
• 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

• 2-4 per team

Usher

Serve as an usher during a Sunday morning service. This involves being spiritually prepared, checking the service order, attending the doors, warmly greeting visitors (welcoming newcomers in particular), and collecting tithes and offerings. You will also assist with wheelchairs, hearing devices, and other needs and safety concerns during the service. Training will be provided.

Schedule:
• Weekly or bi-weekly
• Sundays
• Choice of shift:
    8:20 to 10:10 a.m.
    10:20 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Team Style:
• 4-6 per team
• Very social

Weekly Prayer Team Member

Commit to praying weekly for our church family, church leaders, missionaries, and surrounding community. This is a great opportunity for those with the gift of intercession or encouragement. The church publishes a weekly prayer list, which can be picked up at the Information Center, at the top of the stairs by the South Entrance, or outside the Main Office. Volunteers can receive the weekly prayer list online or by email.

• 75+ per team (pray as individuals)

Slide Operator

Operate the computer software to change overhead song lyrics and sermon notes for Sunday morning services. Lyrics and notes are provided and prepared ahead of time each week, so all that is required is an ability to follow music and focus on the task at hand. Training will be provided.

Lighthouse Café Cleaner

This position is not currently needed. 

 

 

Clean the Lighthouse Café (outside the Worship Center) following the Sunday morning services. Put away remaining cups, creamers, etc. Empty and clean two airpots. Wipe down counters. Leave the Lighthouse Café clean and organized. Training will be provided.

Lighthouse Café Attendant (and Future Barista)

This position is not currently needed. 

 

 

Be friendly and welcoming to people in the Lighthouse Café (outside the Worship Center) on Sunday mornings. Keep the area neat and tidy, and keep coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cream, sugar, and other supplies fully stocked and available. Future training will be provided as a barista making specialty coffee beverages.
