We are committed to being a praying people. The ministries and activities of our church are characterized by a reliance upon God in their conception, planning, and execution. Whether you’re new to the EFCCL family or have been around for years, we invite you to take advantage of the many opportunities we have to pray for one another and for our community—locally and around the world.
Why We Pray
Communion: Prayer is the essential communion between a child of God and his or her heavenly Father.
Community: We pray, not only as individuals, but as part of a community of faith. We must pray for one another. Our relationships with one another affect our prayer relationship with our Father.
Submission: As we pray, we submit ourselves to God's will. We only receive that which is requested in keeping with our Father's perfect will.
Relationship: We can pray to God our Father because we have a great high priest in heaven, Jesus Christ, who makes our relationship possible through salvation—the salvation we find in Him alone.
Weekly and Monthly Prayer Teams
These teams receive the weekly prayer list or the monthly prayer list via email and commit to praying for those requests. Monthly prayer team members pray specifically for the needs of our leaders—pastors, directors, and Elders. For more information, contact Eileen Palsgrove. or check out the Prayer Ministries section of the Volunteer Opportunities page to sign up.
Mid-Week Prayer Meeting
This group meets every Thursday evening from 7:00 - 8:00 pm in Room 212. All are welcome to join us and pray for our congregation and our nation.
Shepherd's Staff Prayer
This group meets on Sundays at 8:15 am to pray especially for our Sunday morning ministries.
All are welcome! Stop by the Prayer Room (next to the elevator).
Concerts of Prayer
We come together as a congregation several times a year to enjoy times of fellowship and prayer, usually focused on a particular prayer need: the persecuted church, sanctity of life, our nation and its leaders, etc. Event details are made available in the Sunday morning bulletin and online.
Have a Prayer Need?
Know that there are people in your EFCCL church family who want to lift you up in prayer! If you have an urgent prayer need or a praise to share, please fill out the form below. Prayer teams are available after each service, and we also have a Prayer Room (by the library) if you’d like a quiet place to pray on Sundays or during the week.
