If you're interested in signing up to join our fabulous new book club, follow the link below to give us your name and contact information. We plan on reading through Christian classics and classic literature, but we've included a space on the form for your suggestions. (After all, this is your book club!)
We're heading back to Moraine Hills State Park on Sunday, January 31! Put on a few extra layers and join us for a two-hour hike after church. We'll depart from the parking lot at 12:30 p.m., stop at Subway for lunch, and then travel as a group to our destination. If you are interested in attending, need a ride, or have room for passengers, please contact Martha Schuelke (847.854.8139).
The weather outside is frightful, but bundle up on December 27 to join our Hiker Chicks on a two-hour hike at Moraine Hills State Park! Meet in the front parking lot of the church at 12:30 p.m. and bring a picnic lunch or money for Subway. Nature Hike @ Hickory Grove Conservation Area
Join us Sunday, September 20 from 12:30 'til 4 p.m. as we hike the trails at Hickory Grove Conservation Area. We will depart from the church at 12:30 p.m. for a picnic lunch followed by a two-hour hike.

Get out and enjoy the beautiful summer weather with Hiker Chicks! Our next outing is scheduled for August 16. Meet at the church at 12:30 p.m. for a picnic lunch and then carpool to Hickory Grove Conservation Area for a two-hour hike. Then join us on August 21 at 5:30 p.m. at Martha Schuelke's house for a one-hour prairie trail walk!

Our hikers group is gearing up for another outing this month! Join us on Sunday, July 19 at 12:30 p.m. for a picnic lunch followed by a two-hour hike at Moraine Hills State Park. In the meantime, get some fresh air on the one-hour prairie trail walk tomorrow (Friday, June 10) at 5:30 p.m.

Sonshine Scrappers: Ladies, come out to the church at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 16 to scrapbook, make cards, and enjoy some friendly conversation. Card kits are available for a small fee, or you can bring your own projects from home.
Hiker Chicks: Our first hike is coming up on Saturday, April 18! We'll depart from the church at 10 a.m. and head over to Crabtree Nature Center for a few hours of hiking.

Sonshine Scrappers is a new oasis for the scrapbooking lovers in our church and community, hosted by Mary McCarty. Stop by the church on the third Thursday of the month at 6:45 p.m. to start or finish that proejct that's been sitting on your back burner for months. Invite a friend or two and spend the evening talking, laughing, swapping tips and tricks, and forging new friendships.
The novice and experienced are all welcome! Card kits and scrapbook page kits will be available for a small fee.
What is Common Threads? It is a new opportunity to turn your love for knitting into a ministry for the needy. Beginning January 26, Common Threads will meet monthly at my home from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. Come and learn how to knit a prayer shawl, or finish that project you've been meaning to get to.
What is a prayer shawl? The shawls are prayed over as they're knitted and are meant to wrap the recipient in love. Shawls are given to those going through difficulty or illness. While serving others, the meetings become places of spiritual connection. Come and be part of something greater than yourself and make a difference. It is so rewarding.
