Caring Ministries

An Introduction

Caring Ministries seeks to address everyday needs and to help people work through the hurts and pains of life. Our purpose is to provide biblically-based approaches that allow you to more fully experience the love, power, and healing of God in your lives and relationships.

We offer counseling, support groups, recovery groups, and more. For more information about any of the opportunities listed below, please contact Steve Yeschek, Pastor of Caring Ministries at 815.459.1095 x328 or syeschek@efccl.org.

SALUTE

Our intent with the SALUTE ministry is to provide support for the military and their families. Sacrifices have been made defending and serving our country. We want to honor and serve them by providing services that encourage them to go forward. Join us on the third Thursday of each month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Room 237/238.

Learn more about ministering to military members and their families at the upcoming H.E.R.O.E.S. Care Training seminar, a day-long seminar on April 27. Click through for registration information!

Benevolence

Financial Assistance

Everyone encounters financial problems from time to time and for various reasons. We seek to address those needs in a redemptive, personal, effective, and efficient way that honors God, and our goal as we evaluate incoming requests is to remain good stewards of His monies.

All persons seeking help must complete a Guest Profile Form for each request and then meet with a Benevolence Team. To apply, visit the church office between Tuesday and Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. We strongly recommend that interested parties call (815.459.1095) before visiting to confirm that we still have appointments available.

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a twelve-step, Christ-centered recovery program that meets weekly on Friday evenings. Please click here to jump to the Celebrate Recovery page for more information.

Changing Lanes

Changing Lanes is a ministry to those in our church and community who are unemployed, underemployed, or looking for career-related advice and support. Our weekly group is currently on a break, but if you'd like to schedule a one-on-one meeting with Mark Bates, volunteer coordinator for Changing Lanes, please call the church office (815.459.1095), so we can put you in touch!

Freedom in Christ

Designed to resolve emotional and spiritual conflicts, Freedom in Christ sessions are led by trained lay counselors who incorporate short-term intercessory prayer with discipleship counseling.

GriefShare

GriefShare is a special support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. This group is sponsored by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time.
